Seclusion, spirituality, and self-love are recurring themes throughout my work, reflecting an ongoing journey toward purpose and inner understanding. Art has long served as both a creative outlet and an emotional refuge. From an early age, creating allowed me to release feelings of emotional weight and navigate the complexities of my inner world. This calling toward art continues to guide my practice as a space for healing, reflection, and transformation.
My work draws from visual and conceptual languages including mental health, botanical forms, futurism, and surrealism. I am particularly drawn to watercolor for its unpredictability, transparency, and fluidity, and to gouache for its vibrancy and opacity. Mindfulness plays a central role in my process, shaping both the development of ideas and their material expression.
Through abstraction, my work explores emotional states such as loneliness, sadness, curiosity, and triumph, while also engaging imaginative inquiries into creation, existence, and discovery. I approach my practice as an act of exploration and an attempt to understand both the world and my place within it.
At its core, my vision is to create work that remains authentic and grounded in sincerity. I hope my work offers a space of reflection and connection for those who encounter it; particularly those seeking escape, meaning, or possibility. This pursuit of openness and exploration informs my artist name, How Abstract.
